July 2015 - ERA-CLIM2 Workshop on Observations for Earth-System Reanalysis held at ECMWF

The ERA-CLIM2 workshop on Observations for Earth System Reanalysis took place during the Copernicus Workshop on Climate Observation Requirements held 29 June – 2 July 2015 at ECMWF. This important meeting generated a great deal of attention for the project and its key role in the implementation of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S). The meeting was very well attended, including many members of the WCRP Data Advisory Committee, as well as several participants to a separate one-day meeting held at ECMWF on the use of reference observations in numerical weather prediction and reanalysis, organized by the UK Royal Meteorological Society. November 2014 - ECMWF to implement the Copernicus Climate Change Service

The European Commission and ECMWF have signed a delegation agreement for ECMWF to implement both the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) and the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) until the end of 2020. The two services represent an investment by the EU of €291 million over seven years and will draw on contributions from across Europe. The C3S website contains up-to-date information about the Service.

November 2014 - ERA-CLIM2 General Assembly held at ECMWF

The official kick-off meeting for the ERA-CLIM2 project took place at ECMWF in Reading, UK on 24-25 February 2014. Representatives from all sixteen institutions comprising the ERA-CLIM2 consortium were present at the meeting. A first informal project review was conducted by the European Commission during the meeting. For more information, including agenda and presentations, is available here.

September 2014 - ERA-CLIM2 Workshop "Closing the GRIB/NetCDF gap" held at ECMWF

  1. A highly successful and well-attended workshop was held at ECMWF in September 2014 in order to develop solutions for implementing support for NetCDF in ECMWF's MARS system. Proceedings of the workshop are available here.

February 2014 - ERA-CLIM2 Kick-Off Meeting held at ECMWF

The official kick-off meeting for the ERA-CLIM2 project took place at ECMWF in Reading, UK on 24-25 February 2014. Representatives from sixteen institutions comprising the ERA-CLIM2 consortium were present at the meeting.
